DESCRIPTION:Vancouver Lodge 823 considers it a distinct honor and privilege to be able to show our appreciation for these veterans and families by providing a meal of Thanksgiving and we cordially invite those who are able to attend this event to celebrate with us this special occasion which we will be having at our Lodge beginning at 5 PM and concluding at 7:30 PM on Friday\, November 11\, 2022. \nThe evening will be filled with live music provided by Vanport Jazz\, posting of the colors by the VFW\, artifacts\, and photos of family\, friends\, and loved ones who have served our country in conflicts and operations both past and present\, and a video montage playing throughout the event. We hope you can join us on this special occasion. \nThe dinner will be provided at no cost to all Veterans who attend and $8.23 each for those attending who\nare not Veterans with a sit-down meal served by our Girl Scouts and Sea Scouts sponsored by our Lodge. DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Elks have had a long tradition of serving the Tom and Jerry Drink as a competition between the PERs and the Officers of the lodge as to which group serves the best Tom and Jerry. You vote with your dollars as a fundraiser for the lodge. \nTom and Jerry is a traditional Christmastime cocktail in the United States\, sometimes attributed to British writer and professional boxing journalist Pierce Egan in the 1820s. It is a variant of eggnog with brandy and rum added and served hot\, usually in a mug or a bowl.
